News and Stuff

Right now, the sun is shining here at home (it's actually really hot!! 30° >.<). I just received some some mails from Mirkka, my host mommy! ;D
She told me about Finland's weather (seems to be cold after all!), her little daughter and some shopping opportunities in Tampere! She also gave me some information concerning my language course! Yay, I want to learn Finnish!! - such a beautiful language, check this out:

...it's "Tehosekoitin"'s song "Kaukaisimmalle Rannalle", covered by one of my favourite finnish Bands "Negative"

...singing  "vie mut maailman reunaan kaukaisimmalle rannalle vie minne päättyy tie
harmaasta kaupungista kaukaisimmalle rannalle vie alle tähtien"  ;P
luckily nobody else is around here right now to hear my poor attempts at singing! xD

I'm so glad to have such a nice host family! They seem to be really great people - I want to meet them as soon as possible!

I also got some mail from one of my mentors in Tampere recently - Ella Saarinen -
She introduced herself to me and seems to be nice too! :) Good to have so many friendly people waiting for me in Finland!~

Have a nice day!

Intro

Hey there!~

Well, I'm writing this blog in order to capture the precious moments and experiences that are about to come during my EVS (European Voluntary Service) period in Tampere/Kangasala (Finland) and to update all the people that are interested! ^-^
Everyone's welcome to follow or read my posts, so please feel free to visit my page anytime!

I'll be abroad from 03.09.2012 to 30.06.2013 - already looking forward to meeting everyone there --> my host family, my mentors, my workmates and anyone else that I'm going to meet!

However I'm also a little nervous - after all, it's going to be 10 months and a lot to organise until then. Will I be able to get used to all this immediately? And I fear the moment when I start to miss home, my family and my friends...
Anyways, I think it's been a great decision and an unique opportunity! Fears are just normal and in the end, I'm really happy that I'll get the chance to join this programm! :D
